| Synopsis | |||
Two teens, two cultures, two drastically different paths. Exploring the lives of adolescents growing up in a troubled city during its most violent period, Mosul in 2004 and 2005. A city where half the population is loyal to the man the other half absolutely despises, Iraq’s former Dictator Saddam Hussein. The drama follows closely the day to day activities of two young men on separate sides of the fence. One follows in the footsteps of his family and becomes a proud member of the Iraqi National Guard despite the stern demands of his grandfather, a former Peshmerga turned pacifist still healing from war wounds inflicted over a lifetime of fighting. The other a fan of Western music and film, pressured by his family into joining the insurgency to avenge the death of his older brother. These two paths will eventually dramatically collide in a violent conflict as the city verges on erupting into all out civil war. |
